Project: "Bulgarian Border Dialogues. Developing a Regional CBC Data Center"
Overall objective: Enhancing the level of knowledge and understanding of cross-border processes between Bulgaria and its neighbouring countries. Bolster the understanding of CBC in the regions and countries involved, thus promoting good neighbourly relations, fostering stability, security and prosperity in the mutual interest of all countries concerned, and encouraging their harmonious, balanced and sustainable development. The development of the CBC Data Center will promote enhanced regional cooperation, accelerated integration of the EU economic and political spaces, and will help attract qualified human resources and foreign investments.
Specific objectives:
• Assembling and generating relevant data on the cross-border relations and borderland developments
• Makeing the data on CBC and borderland developments more accessible by with the establishment of a Data Centre and making it more compelling with the application of data visualizations
• Engaging journalists and regional media in data journalism on cross-border relations and borderland developments with by the establishment of a data journalism training programme
• Harmonizing the statistical methodology on cross-border data between neighboring countries
Project’s expected outcomes:
• Experience and best practices shared between organizations dealing with territorial cooperation
• Enhanced public awareness of the state of cross-border communities relations
• Data on borderland developments and cross-border cooperation is assembled and made available in CBC data center
• A network of national statistic institutes established
• Cross-border data journalism courses developed and implemented
