THIRD COOPERATION COMMITTEE OF BG11 PROGRAMME “CAPACITY-BUILDING AND INSTITUTIONAL CO-OPERATION”

On 29^th October 2013 in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria was held the Third Cooperation Committee under BG 11 Programme "Capacity-building and institutional coperation" funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Programme operator (PO) -  Mrs. Irena Parvanova and representatives from Operational Programme "Technical Assistance", the Norwegian partners – the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities and the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, representatives of the beneficiaries, representatives of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sofia - Mrs. Carina Ekornes, First Secretary and the Deputy Head of the Mission, representatives of the National Focal Point from the Council of Ministers of Republic of Bulgaria.

During the meeting was outlined the progress of the two projects with beneficiaries National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) and DG "Territorial Cooperation Management" at the Ministry of Regional Development of Republic of Bulgaria. Discussed were also issues related to the Bilateral fund as well as plans for joint initiatives in the next year. Within the meeting was presented a report on the activities for information and publicity for the first half of 2013.

The agenda continued with meetings with the mayors of Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo - Mr. Daniel Panov and Mrs. Tanya Hristova and a visit to the training center of the National Association of Municipalities in Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) in village Gergini, Gabrovo municipality. In the training centre are envisaged activities under the project “Improving the capacity of NAMRB and Bulgarian municipalities through cooperation with Norwegian local authorities”, funded by BG 11 Programme “Capacity- building and institutional co-operation”.
