Regional database for cross-border cooperation (CBC)

Project “Bulgarian Border Dialogues. Developing a Regional CBC Data Center “, worth over 2 million BGN,  is implemented by the Ministry of Regional Development of Republic of Bulgaria and is funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 г.

Specialists and experts from Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey and FYRO Macedonia are developing a regional database of common statistical indicators to promote dialogue and cooperation amongst the neighbouring countries.

The joint working group is organized by a specialized team from the Ministry of regional development of Republic of Bulgaria, together with the National Statistical Institute of Republic of Bulgaria. In the group participate representatives from the Statistical institutes of Bulgaria, Serbia and FYRO Macedonia, as well as specialists from the Ministry of European Affairs of Republic of Turkey. Within the joint work of the group is being developed a methodology for data collection and measurement of different indicators by the National statistical institute of Republic of Bulgaria. The main task of the experts is to discuss the different ways to form indicators in the different regions and to create a basis for the development of new common indicators for the purposes of cross-border data.

The joint working group is organized within project "Bulgarian Border Dialogues. Developing a Regional CBC Data Center " funded by BG 11 Programme "Capacity building and institutional co-operation“ under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 г.

The development of a regional database for cross-border cooperation will promote the regional partnership and will accelerate the integration in the EU economic and political area as well as will impact positively the economical and social development of the border regions.

Developing a Regional CBC Data Center " is at the total value of  2 105 394,27 BGN and is funded by BG 11 Programme “Capacity building and institutional co-operation” under the Norwegian financial mechanism 2009-2014. Programme Operator of the programme is “Operational programme “Technical Assistance” Directorate at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, the project is implemented by DG “Management of territorial cooperation” at the Ministry of regional development of the Republic of Bulgaria.
